JEWELRY CARE
You have to treat your jewelry with love in order to preserve their beauty.
Jewelry made from silver and gold are very delicate due to the softness of the metal. Throwing around or abusing them may lead to scratches or deformation. That being said, here are a few simple tips to help you keep your pieces in the best shape.
CLEAN
To keep your pieces forever shiny, rarely clean them with warm mild soapy water and a soft brush. Gently pat dry with a soft dry cloth and store them in your pouch. Alternatively, use a soft, non abrasive cloth and rub them gently to bring back the shine.
STORE
Always store your jewelry in the pouch that came in when you are not wearing them. Keep them in a clean, dry and cool place. If you live in a humid environment, store them with a small packet of desiccant crystals to help reduce tarnishing. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
AVOID
There are many factors that can erode the metal of the jewelry or in some cases even enter the porous surface of some gemstones. Below we listed some tips to inform you what you should avoid.
- Avoid excessive contact with water and remove your jewelry when bathing or swimming.
- Avoid exposure to any chemicals, cosmetic products, lotions, oils, sprays, perfumes.
- Remove your jewelry before any exercise or physical activity to prevent any damage and keep them away from sweat.
- Avoid saltwater, chlorine and sand usually in summer activities. Gold and silver are particularly susceptible to damage from chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolor them.
